Manual therapy can be defined as a hands on treatment intervention for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. One such type that is practiced at Functional Investments is joint mobilization. Joint mobilizations can be described as a skilled passive movement of the articular surface of a joint performed by the therapist. These movements are graded I through V depending on the severity of the disorder and the patient's pain level.
Dry needling or Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS) is a form of physical therapy in which fine needles are inserted into myofascial trigger points or "knots" in muscles, tendons, ligaments, or near nerves in order to stimulate a healing response in painful musculoskeletal conditions.
